As an education innovation project with its founding roots in both Silicon Valley and Beijing, ETU Education is dedicated to offer a student-centered whole-person education by combining progressive pedagogy, including social emotional learning, project/phenomenon baesd learning and real world inputs, with Chinaʼs culturally-rich curriculum, so as to cultivate active lifelong learners with high self-efficacy and innovative spirits, and most importantly, a passion to make change in their community.
Since the first school in Beijing in 2016, ETU has now built a global family of progressive schools in Palo Alto (imagination lab school-Global ETU Family), Beijing and Guangzhou in China. Through the partnership with the
25-year-old Beijing BISS International School (BISS) that offers all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, ISS will become a new addition to ETUʼs global network of partners.
Meanwhile, ETU is much more than a school network. With a unique team that is comprised of experienced educators, seasoned management executives and IT platform designers and engineers, ETU is building a platform that supports a better education ecosystem, in which students are put at the center of learning, teacher are well supported by a series of empowering professional development program, and school is put at the center of the community.
By addressing the core challenges of todayʼs education systematically, ETU hopes to explore a social engagement mechanism, so that the cognitive frontier of the society could be really brought into basic education to empower everyone to become the best version of themselves.
A good education is empower everyone.
Education is a process where one’s soul is awakened by another’s, and one’s life is impacted by another’s; where every child is truly seen and heard, and where they are inspired to learn and are given the motivation to unlock their true potential.
That’s why education is such a complex thing—the more I learn about it, the more I am humbled. I always wonder, where does the strength come from, what drives us forward? Later I realized that, the ultimate source of strength comes from the courage to face real life.
In fact, education is more than a curriculum or a physical school, but rather it is a social experience that involves almost each and every member of society.
In other words, ETU was founded based on a change-maker mindset. We hope to gather and integrate resources from all walks of life to make this school a community for innovative thinking, so as to connect education with real life and society.
In this way, we hope to cultivate the next generation of leaders who are not only physically healthy and strong, but also self-driven lifelong learners, who are independent thinkers, but can also collaborate with a team. More importantly, they should be able to participate in and solve real issues found in today’s society, and they should be able to overcome life’s common challenges. By having a strong sense of responsibility to participate in the progress of society, our students will become the future leaders in innovation and philanthropy, telling China’s story on the world stage.
Over the past three years, it’s not so much that we have built one or two schools. What we have really built is a school-centered community and educational environment that is based on trust and empowerment. I am very grateful for all the recognition, encouragement and support from our students, parents and friends. Through their trust, we have finally turned our efforts in education innovation into a journey of growth where everyone gets to know each other, trust each other, and empower each other.
We believe that a good education is one that empowers everyone. We look forward to you joining us! Let’s work together as a community to cultivate the next generation of leaders, and to make a better future together.

ETU construct its student and teacher view, curriculum and goals, and assessment system based on the core values of “Kindness, Accountability, Enthusiasm, Sincerity, Action”.
Since its founding, ETU has been committed to constructing an “empowering” education ecosystem through social innovation around education. We aim to extend the boundaries of education to cover the entire community and make school a place to connect student learning with real-life experiences, problems and challenges.
Whether you are a student, a teacher, an administrator, an expert, a parent, or an individual who has been involved in ETU’s education innovation efforts, at the very moment you join ETU, you have stepped into a community full of vitality, where everyone has an indispensable role to play. We hope, while everyone is contributing and participating in this process, they can also be constantly empowered, and eventually become their best self in an environment of trust and empowerment.
On this path to lifelong learning, ETU hopes to empower everyone. Our students will become creators and givers with strong self-efficacy; our teachers will become creators with full professional support; our parents will put off anxiety and embark on a journey of lifelong learning with their kids; and the social elites will also become participants and action takers in the face of today’s challenges. Through community engagement, ETU hopes to lever parent education and society resources with school education, so as to give our students a learning and growth experience that could maximize their self-efficacy.
